If you are in possession of your vehicle log book – v5 then we will inspect it to verify that you are the legal owner of the vehicle, if you have lost your v5 then we will ask you to write to DVLA informing them that the vehicle has been scrapped.
Once we scrap your vehicle we will issue you with Certificate of Destruction (CoD). We will then inform DVLA that you are not responsible for the vehicle any more. We encourage you to keep hold of the certificate as proof that the vehicle has been destroyed in an environmentally friendly and legal manner and that you are no longer responsible for it.
